In line with the government’s plan to assist the victims of Hurricane Idalia, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that it is on its way to Tampa Bay.
People affected by Hurricane Idalia are meeting with disaster response personnel. For security, when officials go through affected communities on Monday, they should be wearing a FEMA vest or shirt and have an ID badge just above their belt, FEMA reminds.
Pinellas County has been included to the state of Florida’s Major Disaster Declaration. The county had substantial flooding as a result of Hurricane Idalia and is now competing for qualifying assistance with Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties.
For the assistance, this could include money for temporary housing, modest house repairs, and other disaster-related expenses.
FEMA representatives will begin offering assistance in Hernando and Pasco Counties on Monday, and will likely travel to Pinellas on Wednesday.
