The City of Tampa is hosting its Career Glow Up job fair on Friday, June 12, at the City Center at Hanna Avenue, offering job seekers of all ages the opportunity to connect with employers, strengthen their resumes and explore new career paths.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include opportunities for interviews with potential employers, career resources and workshops designed to help attendees feel more confident in their job search.

“Forget standard networking. The Career Glow Up Job Fair is built to help you land your dream job,” said Management Methods Analyst Willetta Glenn-Harris. “We are bringing high-energy, festive vibes to East Tampa, packed with hands-on perks like expert resume help, professional style tips and free digital headshots.”

Attendees can meet with hiring managers, participate in on-the-spot interviews, receive interview coaching, attend resume workshops and get free digital headshots. The event will also include prizes, a live DJ, free parking and lunch for those who register in advance.

“We’re trying to make sure we meet the goals of our job seekers and employers and help match the needs for them both,” Glenn-Harris said.

Last year’s Career Glow Up welcomed around 400 attendees, and Glenn-Harris said registration has already doubled this year. The event will feature about 30 vendors, including businesses and resource partners.

Secondary training resources will also be available through organizations such as Hillsborough Community College and St. Petersburg College.

“Tampa is a growing industry, a top-five industry, so some of the employers that will be there are Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union, Department of Children an Families and FDOT,” Glenn-Harris said. “We are trying to make sure we meet the needs of job seekers or someone looking to change their career.”

Because job searching can often feel overwhelming, Glenn-Harris said the team wanted to create an environment that feels encouraging and welcoming.

“We want to make sure the atmosphere is positive,” she said. “The DJ will be there playing upbeat music and helping create that energy.”

“Everyone is welcome,” Glenn-Harris said. “We will have something for you, and if you don’t find your fit here on Friday, then you will definitely meet and make a connection that you can probably go back to and say, ‘I’m glad I made that connection at CGU.’”

Job seekers can still register online for free.
