If you’re looking for stunning views and delicious food, Casa Cami might become your new favorite spot. Located on the 10th floor of The Current Hotel at Rocky Point, the restaurant boasts incredible views across the bay.
The restaurant is the latest project from siblings Blake Casper and Allison Casper Adams, the duo behind Tampa’s popular Oxford Exchange, Predalina and The Library.
Our evening began with the Salsa Trio and two standout appetizers: the Chorizo Pizza and Flautas. The Chorizo Pizza, in particular, is a must-try fusion dish that brilliantly marries Mexican and Italian influences. It’s the kind of unexpected menu item that makes you glad you took a chance on something different.
For main courses, we sampled the Al Pastor tacos and the show-stopping Barbacoa Short Rib Fajita. The portion sizes are remarkably generous, particularly the short rib fajita, which arrives sizzling and aromatic. While the short rib is undeniably delicious, it’s worth noting that it’s quite rich – perfect for sharing or if you’re bringing a healthy appetite.
The price point reflects the restaurant’s upscale positioning, especially once you factor in drinks. However, what you’re paying for extends beyond just the food – you’re getting an experience. The sophisticated yet casual atmosphere strikes just the right balance, and those panoramic bay views are worth the premium, particularly during sunset which is nothing short of spectacular.
Valet parking is available at the hotel for $10, making the arrival experience seamless and convenient.
The verdict? Casa Cami successfully delivers on both atmosphere and flavor, making it an excellent choice for special occasions or when you’re in the mood to elevate your Mexican dining experience.
While it may not be an everyday dining option due to the price point, the combination of impressive views, generous portions, and creative takes on Mexican classics makes it a worthy addition to Tampa’s dining scene.
