A significant highlight of Tampa’s vibrant summer calendar is the annual BeerFest. This signature event by Tampa Theatre, now entering its 13th year, is not just about camaraderie, food, and local brews; it is a festive fundraiser for a cause. Over the past 13 years, BeerFest has generated more than $100,000, funds that have bolstered the majestic movie palace, a non-profit organization.
The Beerassic Park
This year, the BeerFest takes on a prehistoric theme – “Beerassic Park.” The main event unfurls from 7:00–10:00 pm on Saturday, July 29, and promises to be an evening filled with craft beers from local brewers, a broad selection of food options, and abundant entertainment.
Some of Tampa’s most esteemed independent restaurants will be present, providing snacks and samples to supplement the wide array of brews. Whether your taste aligns with the robust offerings of the 81Bay Brewing Company, the experimental flavors of Bastet Brewing, or the more traditional beers from Florida Avenue Brewing Co. and Gulfport Brewery, there is something to satisfy every palate.
As an exciting twist, guests are encouraged to immerse themselves in the theme by dressing as their favorite Jurassic Park character or donning any dino-related costume. Please note that guests must be 21 or older to attend, and a valid government-issued ID is required for entry.
Serious Purpose, Fun Delivery
While the lighthearted and playful theme, “Beerassic Park,” brings a fun atmosphere to the event, the cause behind BeerFest is decidedly serious. The primary purpose of this annual event is to raise funds that support Tampa Theatre’s artistic, educational, and community programs.
Simultaneously, the event assists with preserving this 97-year-old historic landmark. A unique combination of frivolity and philanthropy makes BeerFest such an unmissable event in Tampa’s summer lineup.
Veronica Danko, the dynamic owner of Seminole Heights’ Independent bar and cafe, is taking the reins of this year’s event. Known as one of Tampa Theatre’s most committed ‘Awesome-sauruses,’ Danko is no stranger to championing worthy causes while ensuring everyone has a great time.
Tickets and Schedule
Kick-off for the BeerFest begins with a limited-capacity premium sampling at 7:00 pm Advance-sale tickets for this exclusive experience are priced at $75, with a discounted rate of $65 for Tampa Theatre Members.
The grand sampling event, which allows more beer enthusiasts to join the festivities, starts at 8:00 pm Advance-sale tickets for this event are priced at $55, with a special rate of $45 for Members.
Tickets can be purchased at the Tampa Theatre Box Office or online. However, guests are urged to secure their tickets early as prices will increase on the event day.
