Tampa’s favorite holiday tradition returns this winter as Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park transforms into a winter wonderland on December 7. The 2024 Santa Fest promises to fill downtown with seasonal cheer, culminating in the city’s beloved annual tree lighting ceremony alongside the enchanting Winter Village.
The festivities kick off at 1 pm with a downtown procession that captures the spirit of the season. Starting at the intersection of Morgan and Madison Streets, the parade route weaves through the heart of downtown, traveling west along Madison before turning north onto Ashley Drive and concluding near Cass Street. Families looking for the perfect vantage point will find excellent viewing opportunities along Madison Street.
The celebration continues throughout the afternoon at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, where from 1 to 4 pm, visitors can immerse themselves in holiday entertainment and activities. Children will have the opportunity to share their Christmas wishes with Santa himself, while the park buzzes with festive performances and seasonal merriment.
As dusk approaches, the anticipation builds for the highlight of the day – the annual Tampa Tree Lighting ceremony at 6 pm. Mayor Jane Castor will join Santa Claus to illuminate the night, bathing the park in a warm holiday glow and officially welcoming the festive season to Tampa.
