Good news to art enthusiasts out there! The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPa) has relocated to the Historic Kress Building in Ybor City, just off 7th Avenue.
FMoPA collects, preserves, and exhibits historic and contemporary works by important artists. The museum displays old black and white prints by the world’s top photographers.
“This, of course, is Phillippe Halsman’s famous Marilyn Monroe portrait from Life Magazine. We also have Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Diane Arbus,” Sara Canon said.
FMOPA hopes that this new private venue will draw more attention to its amazing collection.
“We moved from Downtown Tampa to the heart of Ybor City, and it’s just the perfect space for us. We’re bouncing off all the arts energy here,” explained Canon.
FMOPA is grateful for the support of donors and sponsors, and it is hoped that they will continue to consider investing in the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts as the museum embarks on its exciting new chapter in Ybor City.
“Donors and sponsors can expect a strong return on their investment, as your support will bring quality name recognition in the new location as well as on all marketing materials for the foreseeable future,” its official website says.
FMOPA is open Tuesday through Sunday, with ticket prices from $10-12. Visit FMoPA here.
