Savannah, GA — For many, the search for spiritual care ends in silence—especially for veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those grieving profound loss. One new nonprofit, Traveling Light Ministries, is answering that silence with presence, compassion, and purpose.
Founded by Fr. Mark Colville, a U.S. Army veteran and ordained Independent Catholic priest, Traveling Light Ministries offers a unique model of spiritual care that embraces both tradition and innovation. With services including grief recovery counseling, Reiki healing, mindfulness-based support, and chaplaincy, the ministry reaches those often left behind by conventional religious systems.
“We exist for the people who feel forgotten,” said Fr. Colville. “Our mission is to walk alongside anyone navigating pain, trauma, or spiritual isolation—offering them not answers, but accompaniment.”
Rooted in the Independent Catholic tradition, Traveling Light Ministries upholds apostolic faith while breaking down barriers that have historically excluded people from spiritual support. This includes veterans coping with service-related trauma, LGBTQ+ individuals seeking an affirming spiritual home, and anyone carrying the weight of loss or transition.
What makes the organization stand out is its integrative approach. Rather than separating spiritual life from emotional well-being, the ministry weaves together chaplaincy with energy-based healing and contemplative practices. This holistic framework addresses the whole person—body, mind, and soul.
Services are offered both in person and online to ensure access for those in rural areas, underserved populations, or those unable to attend in-person gatherings. Partial scholarships are available, and no one is turned away for financial reasons.
As Traveling Light Ministries continues to grow, Fr. Colville invites individuals and community partners to take part in the mission—whether by seeking support, volunteering, or offering financial contributions.
