The music industry welcomes a new player this summer as Through The Void Records makes their official debut. The independent record label, co-founded by musician-entrepreneur Lawrence Fancelli and managed by industry executive Alessandra Pellegrineschi, will introduce itself to the world with "Dreaming (Wide Awake)," the first single from international electronic duo under:tones.

The track, co-produced by Italian electronic pioneer Alex Neri of Planet Funk fame and composer Matteo Zarcone, serves as both an introduction to the duo's forthcoming album Encounters and a statement of intent for the label's artistic direction. An accompanying music video, filmed in Los Angeles, will follow on August 6.

"Dreaming (Wide Awake)" delivers a warm, cinematic sound that blends raw textures with bright synthesizers and indie-pop sensibilities. Vocalist Sonny Reeves anchors the track with a performance that captures the space between yearning and fulfillment. The production merges contemporary electronic elements with timeless melodic structures, creating something that feels both familiar and fresh.

"We wrote it thinking of that moment when life suddenly feels like a movie—too vivid to be real, too true to ignore," say under:tones. "It's about clarity, love, and the thrill of catching up with your own dreams."

Through The Void Records positions itself differently from traditional record companies. Legally based in Florida but operating primarily in Italy, the label maintains a network of professionals spanning Europe, the UK, and the United States. Rather than following conventional industry models, the company approaches music curation with the sensibility of an art gallery, treating each release as part of a larger creative narrative.

"When we decided to redefine Through The Void as an independent boutique label, our goal was to build something far beyond a traditional record label," say Fancelli and Pellegrineschi. "We envisioned a space where music isn't just released, but curated like art—a home where every artist receives the time, care, and strategy they need to transform talent into something timeless and meaningful."

The founders emphasize their commitment to artist development without creative compromise. "For us, an independent label should never be a container of songs, but an accelerator of visions. That's why we work on every detail—music, visuals, storytelling, and strategy—so our artists can speak a universal language while staying true to who they are."

This philosophy extends to their international approach. "Our mission is clear: to help artists grow without compromise. We merge creativity with global strategy, building bridges between Italy and the U.S. and opening doors to new audiences worldwide."

The label's first signing, under:tones, exemplifies this global perspective. Alex Neri brings decades of experience from his work with Planet Funk, where he helped shape the Italian house sound that influenced electronic music worldwide. His collaborator Matteo Zarcone contributes a diverse background as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and touring artist with credits ranging from film scoring to releases on underground labels including King Street Sounds, Trax Records, and Nervous.

Working between Florence, Los Angeles, and London, under:tones creates what they describe as "sonic short films"—layered soundscapes that merge electronic production with emotional pop and visual storytelling. Their album Encounters, scheduled for 2026, promises to explore themes of cross-cultural connection through this distinctive approach.

The duo premiered their live show in Italy in July 2025, with plans for touring across Europe and North America. This debut single marks the beginning of what Through The Void Records hopes will be a new model for independent music—one that prioritizes artistic vision while maintaining global commercial viability.

As the music industry continues to evolve, Through The Void Records enters the market with a clear vision: treating music as art, artists as visionaries, and the label itself as a bridge between creative integrity and international success. With "Dreaming (Wide Awake)" as their opening statement, both the label and under:tones are positioning themselves for a future where independent music operates on its own terms.
