It’s 10 days before Christmas! Unfortunately, a number of holiday festivities have been postponed or canceled due to the severe weather that is predicted to sweep through Tampa Bay this weekend.
To keep you on the loop, we compiled a list of all the events that have been canceled this weekend in Tampa Bay. The list will continue to be updated as more cancellations or reschedules are announced.
Pinellas County
Treasure Holiday Lighted Boat Parade
Because of the “unsettled weather forecast” for this weekend, the Treasure Holiday Lighted Boat Parade has been rescheduled for next Friday, officials stated on Wednesday. The parade will now start at 6 p.m. on Dec. 22.
Meanwhile, the holiday event at Treasure Bay Golf & Tennis has also been rescheduled for December 22, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., according to Treasure Island officials.
Indian Rocks Beach Christmas Boat Parade
The city declared on Thursday that the Indian Rocks Beach Christmas boat procession had been postponed. The procession, which was originally planned for Saturday, will not take place because of the weather that is predicted for this weekend. There won’t be a new date for the event.
Gulfport Third Saturday Indie Faire
Due to the anticipated bad weather, the Merchants Chamber of Commerce Third Saturday Indie Faire: Holiday Edition has been cancelled, the City of Gulfport said on Thursday. The event will not be rescheduled from its initial Saturday location in Gulfport’s downtown.
“Our top priority is the safety of our community. At this time, the City of Gulfport can anticipate possible heavy rain, strong to severe storms, and coastal flooding. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding in this matter,” the city said in a statement.
Safety Harbor Holiday Nights
Due to the expected bad weather for this weekend, Folly Farm in Safety Harbor has cancelled its Harbor Holiday Nights on Saturday and Sunday, but the event on Friday is still scheduled.
Free parking is available for visitors at Elm and Cedar. You may take a trolly to Folly Farm for $5 from there.
Hillsborough County
Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park
The weather has forced Winter Village to postpone its Saturday night screening of the beloved holiday film “Elf” at Curtis Hixon Park. On Saturday morning, the decision of whether or not the remaining events will go on will be made.
