A groundbreaking documentary that bridges the supernatural and scientific is not a common film festival entry. Yet The Road Angel with Danielle Egnew, created by Mirror House Media, is paving the way for a fascinating new entertainment genre while positioning the project for its premiere at the MINT Film Festival in Billings, Montana, on September 19th, 2025.

The road to The Road Angel has not been without its detours. In 2019, the project received the prestigious $50,000 documentary grant from the Montana Department of Commerce, formerly the Montana Film Office, enriching an already robust budget. COVID-19 interrupted production, placing The Road Angel up on blocks until filming could safely resume.

The documentary follows Montana native Danielle Egnew, named America's #1 Psychic by Ranker, as she travels to Red Lodge, Montana, delivering messages from angelic beings to people in need of help while investigating the effect of supernatural phenomenon on the local community. Focusing topics through spiritual, social, and scientific lenses, the project represents a unique collaboration between Egnew, who has communicated with angels since age two, and producer-director Mary Erickson, formerly of Universal Studios.

"Mary had previously worked at Universal, and she approached me about doing a show that follows how I help people by working with their angels," Egnew said. "Mary's vision for Road Angel was so unique, so authentic, and true to the process of how I actually work with angels and the people they're trying to help, that I got excited about the show. What our entire crew created around Mary's vision and what I do every day, to translate for these angelic beings—well, I'm honestly incredibly humbled and really proud of what we’ve accomplished. We got out of the way of the supernatural, and man, did it show up in a beautiful way."

The Road Angel documentary serves as the pilot episode for a planned docuseries. Each episode will feature Egnew addressing tough community challenges from an angelic perspective while incorporating scientific analysis of supernatural events. The project is produced by Mirror House Media with Erickson writing, directing, and producing, Egnew serving as co-producer, and Melissa Scianna as associate producer.

"Although I've become a bit of a skeptic about popular psychics, when I met Danielle, I experienced a fearless, fascinating human who uses her extraordinary gifts to help a hurting world," Erickson explained. "Her heart longs to give a voice to those who haven't been heard, and often, not seen. Since Danielle's a science geek as well as a psychic, and loves a good road trip, I wrote a show — The Road Angel — that takes Danielle into communities to address challenges from an angelic perspective, and invites science to weigh in on the supernatural. Danielle braves the world's most mysterious places, whether that's in nature, in architecture, or the human psyche. She's a badass rock and roll chick with the angels riding shotgun."

The documentary challenges traditional perceptions of angels, presenting them not as religious figures or cherubic entities, but as powerful beings whose purpose involves transmuting and transforming energies. Through her unique abilities, Egnew translates messages from these entities to help individuals and communities navigate contemporary challenges.

Egnew brings an unusual combination of credentials to the project. Beyond her psychic abilities, she possesses a 25-year background in acoustic sciences and has served as a content consultant for paranormal television programs including the CW's Supernatural and the DC film Man of Steel. She is also a vetted volunteer member of the national crime-solving organization Find Me Group.

The documentary showcases diverse scenarios, from Egnew communicating with trapped spirits from collapsed mine shafts to providing comfort to grieving individuals, investigating haunted locations, and interviewing locals who share deep-seated traditions.

Prior to her work in the supernatural field, Egnew gained recognition as the lead singer of 1990s all-female rock band Pope Jane. She has since been featured in USA Today, OK! Magazine, LA Weekly, The Washington Post, and The Huffington Post. Her expertise has led to appearances on television networks including TRVL Channel, Discovery+, ABC, NBC, USA, and TNT.

In 2024, Egnew founded the Rocky Mountain Academy of Energetic Arts, an online vocational and personal enrichment school featuring instructors from across the United States. She also hosts The inPsight Show podcast, covering spiritual topics, UFOs, and current events.

The documentary's Montana Department of Commerce grant, along with the film’s placement in MINT, represents significant support for content exploring spiritual, social, and paranormal themes. The Road Angel will screen at the MINT Film Festival on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 4:45 PM, offering audiences an opportunity to experience this unique blend of supernatural investigation, close-knit community, and scientific inquiry.
