Around 1,000 demonstrators gathered outside of Tampa’s City Hall protesting the Trump administration during the national call to action “No Kings” day.

People were chanting "Donald Trump has to go" and holding signs reading “No ICE”, “Fight Immigration” and “Defend Democracy.”

Demonstrator Max Stubbs said there needs to be a change to how immigration is handled and the U.S. should leave Cuba alone.

“Why is their issue that they have with their people and with their government reputation, an issue with America? When we also have our own issue with representation. We should leave Cuba alone, stop killing people through our Marco and just let it be and that's the same globally,” Stubbs said.

Stubbs said it's important to point out this is not just a Trump issue. He said it's endemic to both sides.

“We have issues of foreign influence. Israel is the biggest player, but not the only one. I don’t think there's a person who could vote for a Republican, but the selection of the Democrats hasn’t been great either,” Stubb said. “I mean the Democratic parties are fighting a civil war against themselves.”

He said the U.S. has a bunch of issues that are jumbling up into one giant mess.

Demonstrator Carol Ferguson has been protesting since the 60’s and said she is a big advocate when it comes to peoples rights.

“We called for women’s rights and we just had them taken away and anytime you have rights taken away, they’re not rights. Republicans consider it privileges,” Ferguson said.

She said people should think for themselves and Trump did not hold his promises during his campaign.

“None of his promises came true. That's costing them. The gas prices, the grocery store costing them, sons and daughters if you go to war. I have great faith that the tide is turning,” Ferguson said.

Ferguson said she wants people to think for themselves and demonstrations like this raise attention.

Overall the demonstration remained peaceful while energy was high and numerous cars were honking to show support.

“No Kings” is a nationwide, peaceful protest movement against President Donald Trump's administration. The movement started June 2025 and this is the third national call to action.

More than 3,000 “No King” protests were scheduled for March 28 and Florida had 12 demonstrations across the state on Mobilize.
