Cityside Chiropractic has built a practice that extends beyond spinal manipulation alone, combining approximately 25 years of clinical experience with advanced training in sports medicine, rehabilitation, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, personal injury, and patient safety. Led by Dr. Mark Mulak, the practice operates two locations in Providence and Cranston, Rhode Island, serving adults and families throughout those communities and surrounding areas.

The practice takes a comprehensive, evidence-informed approach that emphasizes thorough orthopedic and neurological examination, individualized treatment, functional rehabilitation, objective assessment, and periodic reassessment. Depending on a patient's clinical needs, care may incorporate chiropractic manipulation, therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and concussion screening. Patients range from those seeking short-term care for a new injury or episode of pain to individuals who require rehabilitation and functional recovery following more significant injuries.

Cityside Chiropractic serves patients with neck pain, back pain, headaches, joint and soft-tissue injuries, sports-related conditions, and other musculoskeletal complaints. The practice also has extensive experience caring for people injured in motor-vehicle collisions and other personal injury incidents. Dr. Mulak is the author of “The Objective Injury Model: A Plaintiff Attorney’s Guide to Objective Documentation in Motor Vehicle Injury Cases.”

An important part of the practice philosophy is recognizing when chiropractic treatment is appropriate, when treatment should be modified or concluded, and when a patient should be referred to another healthcare professional. The goal is not simply to provide treatment, but to make sound clinical decisions based on each patient's individual findings and response to care. Cityside Chiropractic also works with patients who may require additional diagnostic evaluation or referral to other healthcare specialists.

“Good chiropractic care starts with understanding the patient, not simply deciding what treatment to provide,” said Mark Mulak, DC, Chiropractic Physician and Founder, Cityside Chiropractic. “Our approach is to examine carefully, treat appropriately, measure progress, and recognize when a patient needs something different or should be referred to another healthcare professional.”

Dr. Mulak began practicing chiropractic approximately 25 years ago with the goal of helping patients recover from musculoskeletal injuries and improve their function through conservative care. Over the years, his approach evolved as he pursued additional education and advanced credentials in sports medicine, rehabilitation, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, personal injury, and patient safety. That experience helped shape Cityside Chiropractic into a practice focused not only on treatment, but also on thorough examination, objective assessment, rehabilitation, periodic reassessment, and appropriate referral when necessary.

Dr. Mulak holds five advanced professional credentials: DACBSP, DACRB, DAIPM, RMSK and ICSC. Dr. Mulak has represented Rhode Island as a delegate to the American Chiropractic Association for approximately eight years. He was selected in 2026 to participate in professional musculoskeletal ultrasound item-review activities for Inteleos/APCA.

As the practice grew, Cityside Chiropractic expanded to serve patients from two Rhode Island locations in Providence and Cranston. Today, the practice combines the accessibility of a community chiropractic office with a broader clinical approach developed through Dr. Mulak’s decades of experience and continued postgraduate education. More than 400 combined Google reviews across the two locations reflect patient experiences, with the overwhelming majority being five-star reviews.

For patients seeking chiropractic care and rehabilitation, Cityside Chiropractic offers evaluation and treatment for a broad range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. The practice emphasizes appropriate referral and coordination with other healthcare professionals when a patient's condition requires additional evaluation or treatment.
