Tampa International Airport hosts 2nd Job Fair of 2023 this Thursday

Tampa International Airport is holding its second job fair of the year, with the goal of hiring more personnel to assist during the hectic holiday season.

Around 400 jobs will be available at the airport from firms such as FedEx Express, the Transportation Security Administration, Southwest Airlines, and other shops and eateries.

In February, Tampa International Airport conducted a job fair that drew over 800 participants.

Although Thursday’s job fair is focused on staffing for the holidays, airport Senior Manager of Communications Josh Gillin stated that the airport will require more workers in the long run as the airport grows.

“It’s important for us to get all these jobs filled now,” Gillin said. “The airport is growing. We have a lot of projects coming down the road. We are winding down on our master plan process and that’s charting out how the airport will renovate, and grow and change over the next 20 years.

“And so it’s really important for us to see how the airport operates, how it may operate in the future and make sure we are running to capacity now.”

Last year, Tampa International Airport saw an 18% rise in passenger traffic, as well as slightly under a half billion pieces of mail and cargo.
