On January 14, Tampa residents will have fun dressing up their furry best friends in their finest pirate attire in honor of the Gasparilla pirate invasion.
Tampa’s Water Street district will be the scene of the inaugural Pirate Pup Parade this month.
Attractions such as costume competition to find the most courageous pets, adoptions, gifts of Chill Bros, pup cups, face painting, pet caricatures, and pirate portraits are all planned for the event.
The parade starts at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Channelside Drive and East Cumberland Avenue.
The $20 entrance fee, which goes toward the Mercy Full Project, an animal rescue in the Tampa Bay area, is required of those who would like to participate.
The first 100 dogs will get a free pup cup, but registration is required for the event.
