Walt Disney World announces new upgrade on one of longest-running attractions

A major entertainment upgrade is coming to one of Walt Disney World’s most popular attractions.

The Country Bear Musical Jamboree, one of the last attractions that Walt Disney directly assisted in developing, is getting a new show.

Eighteen Audio-Animatronics hillbilly bears will perform a 16-minute “foot-stompin’ cele-bear-tion,” which includes music and singing.

Disney announced that the new program will recognize Nashville’s Opry-style performances.

According to the theme park, the Country Bears will perform brand-new, reimagined Disney songs in a variety of country music genres, including bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly, and others.

“The Country Bear Jamboree will still have the fun and friendly tone fans enjoy with the same famous characters like the loveable Trixie, Big Al and others,” Disney said.

On January 27, Grizzly Hall, the venue where the County Bears have played since 1971, will temporarily close. Disney says that it will reopen later this summer.
