Friday Aug. 14
Hotel Flor
Take a step back in time to the Prohibition era at The Dan in Hotel Flor from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. every Friday this month.
Guests can enjoy live jazz music, specialty appetizers and bootleg-era drinks. Guests who dress up will also receive a free dessert.
Orpheum
From 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., join a dark ’80s dance party in Tampa. The atmosphere will transport you back to the 1980s with music and memories. Dress in your best retro attire and dance the night away.
Tickets can be purchased online for $20.
Saturday Aug. 15
AdventHealth Center Ice
Time to cast a spell and dress as your favorite wizard during this back-to-wizarding-school two-hour public ice skating event.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., skaters will not only go around the rink, but there will also be a live DJ, party lights and wizard-themed off-ice games.
Online admission fees are $22 and it includes skate rentals. In-person rates are $25.
Florida State Fairgrounds
FitFest Tampa Bay is bringing fitness competitions featuring top athletes in CrossFit, strongman, powerlifting, jiu-jitsu, weightlifting and more.
There will be Olympians, influencers, cutting-edge fitness gear, supplements and more.
This is a family-friendly event with food trucks, live music and games. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online.
Armature Works at the Heights
Rides by the River is back! From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., walk down Armature Works to view cars from local collectors. Rides by the River displays exotic cars, features local automotive vendors and dealers, food trucks and more.
This event is free to attend, but car owners who want to show off their rides can pre-purchase a spot online.
Sunday Aug. 16
Florida State Fairgrounds

The Dali Museum
Lucky Cat Yoga is hosting a yoga class at The Dalí Museum. The class will incorporate yoga’s physical, mental and spiritual components.
Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Museum admission is half-price to keep the fun going.
Wyndham Grand
Planning a wedding can be stressful. This Wedding Expo will help newly engaged couples find inspiration for their big day.
There will be local wedding professionals, music, tastings, a fashion show and more.
This wedding expo runs from noon to 3 p.m. and is free with online registration or $10 per person at the door.

Carrollwood Players Theatre
From Aug. 14 through Aug. 30, The Gods of Comedy, a play about two professors, will be taking place. The play follows two professors who make a discovery they believe will turn them into academic superstars. After something goes wrong, one professor cries out for the gods to save him — and they appear.
The play begins at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays.
St. Petersburg Tiki Docks Skyway
The 61st annual World's Largest Spearfishing Tournament is happening this weekend. This year, the tournament will have a new location at Tiki Docks Skyway and Maximo Marina.
Parking will be available at Tropicana Field. The tournament starts at midnight on Aug. 15, and the awards ceremony will be held Aug. 16 at 10 a.m.
