Where to celebrate Cinco de Mayo throughout the Tampa Bay area

Cinco de Mayo festivities are happening across Tampa Bay, with restaurants and venues in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater. The Tampa Bay Observer has rounded up some spots to celebrate.

Cinco de Mayo is a holiday celebrated on May 5 in parts of Mexico and the United States to honor the Mexican military victory over French forces in 1862. The holiday is widely marked with parades, Mexican cuisine, drinks, music and cultural festivities.

Tampa

Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar

Rocco's Tacos is hosting its 18th annual fiesta featuring more than 150 tequilas, street tacos, and a live DJ. The celebration begins at 11 a.m. Guests can enjoy fajitas, tableside guacamole, and signature street tacos.

Bush Gardens

Bush Gardens will offer live Latin music, games, and food throughout the park with regular admission.

MacDinton's Soho

MacDintons is hosting “Cinco de Drinko” with margaritas, tacos, and tequila shots. The celebration includes an open bar from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. paired with a taco bar. Specials include $12 Patrón buckets, $25 margarita towers, and $5 Patrón shots. Tickets are available for a happy hour open bar from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for $13.45.

Oasis

Oasis will feature $3 tacos, infused margaritas, and a live DJ from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Bartaco

Bartaco is celebrating all week long with tacos and margaritas. DJ Colt will perform from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Downtown Crawlers

Downtown Crawlers is hosting a Cinco de Mayo bar crawl across Downtown Tampa and SoHo, with more than ten participating bars. One ticket includes access to all locations, a complimentary welcome shot at five stops, and exclusive drink specials. Groups of four or more receive 20% off. Check-in begins at 4 p.m. at Corazon at Hyatt Place, with no set schedule for visiting venues afterward. An optional taco bar upgrade is available. Standard tickets start at $24.84.

St. Petersburg

Flute & Dram

Flute & Dram is hosting a week-long celebration featuring tacos, desserts, street corn, and a DJ performing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Space is limited.

Red Mesa Cantina

Red Mesa Cantina is hosting a Taco Tuesday celebration with margaritas available until 11 p.m.

Nueva Cantina

Nueva Cantina will celebrate all day with specials including $7 margaritas, $5 mocktails, $4 drafts, $4 wells and $4 wines.

Downtown Crawlers

Downtown Crawlers s also hosting a St. Petersburg bar crawl beginning at 4 p.m., with access to more than five participating bars in the Downtown district. Check-in is at Crafty Squirrel. Each ticket includes a complimentary welcome shot and drink specials at select locations. Standard tickets start at $24.73.

Clearwater

HoggDaddy's Beach Bar & Grill

HoggDaddy's Beach Bar & Grill is hosting a party from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring live music, tacos, and tequila.

Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach

Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach is hosting a tequila dinner beginning at 7 p.m. The five-course experience is paired with selections from Don Julio’s portfolio. Pricing starts at $95 per person.
