July’s first Thursday is another hot day with temps in the mid and upper 90s.
With the humidity, it will feel like 105-108 degrees in the Tampa Bay area this afternoon.
Due to this temperature rise, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Hardee, and Desoto counties are under a heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Showers begin along the coast shortly before lunchtime and travel inland during the afternoon. Later today, the most widespread downpours will be east of I-75.
In terms of rain fall, it could begin much earlier on Friday – a few early showers are possible. Highs will remain in the low 90s, but it will be quite humid.
Our best rain chance is on Saturday. We could get a passing shower any time from morning through the early evening.
The onshore wind pattern stays in place all next week. That means, showers quickly push inland each afternoon, and it will be extra humid. Highs reach the low-mid 90s every day.
