For today’s weather, Tampa Bay is set to experience highs in the low 90s, with heat index values ranging from 103 to 108.
And because the wind pattern continues to flow from the Gulf of Mexico, humidity in the area also rises.
The first showers will arrive around lunchtime, with the heaviest rain falling east of I-75. Around sunset, the rain will start to stop.
We expect a few more showers tomorrow, raising the rain chance to 40%, but the pattern will remain the same. Only a few showers are forecast around lunchtime, and these will be closer to the coast.
The heaviest rain will again fall inland later in the day.
The rain chance remains at 40% on Saturday and drops to 30% on Sunday. The weather will be hot and humid on both days, with highs in the low 90s.
