For today’s weather news in Tampa, temperatures reach the low 90s without some afternoon showers and storms.
With the added humidity from the Gulf of Mexico, it will feel closer to 100 degrees this afternoon.
The constant breeze from the Gulf not only increases humidity, but also blows any showers that form fast off to the east coast, reducing our chances of rain. The most of the rain will fall east of I-75.
This pattern will continue tomorrow, with highs in the low 90s and a 20% chance of rain for inland areas.
The rain chance rises to 30% on Thursday, although the majority of the rain will fall east of I-75.
Our best chance for rain comes on Friday, when a weak front stalls just to our north. Because the onshore wind pattern persists, it remains extremely humid.
Moreover, we could also see some morning showers on Saturday.
Even into next week, there doesn’t appear to be a break in the winds blowing from the Gulf, so it will be hot and humid.
