Florida named top US state to retire

If you’ve been able to save some money for retirement and are seeking for a new residence, you may be among the many individuals who are considering relocating to the Sunshine State.

Florida was named the greatest place to retire in 2024 by WalletHub because it has lovely beaches, wonderful weather, and no state income tax.

According to WalletHub, it evaluated the 50 states based on 46 important variables, such as affordability, variables connected to health, and general quality of life.

“Florida is the best state for retirees in part due to its lack of estate or inheritance taxes and its low cost for adult day health care and homemaker services,” WalletHub analyst Cassandra Happe said.

“Florida provides a great natural environment for retirees, with the second-most shoreline miles of any state, and it ranks among the top states for adult volunteer activities, golf courses, country clubs, and theater companies.”

The Sunshine State has one of the lowest rates of death for individuals 65 and older in the nation, according to WalletHub’s analysis of the benefits and drawbacks of living there. It is also one of the best states for country clubs, golf courses, theatre companies, and adult volunteer work.

WalletHub claims that the cost of living in Florida is the sole drawback to relocating there. That doesn’t stop the state from becoming the best place to retire to, though.

If Florida isn’t your ideal retirement destination, Colorado, Virginia, Delaware, and Wyoming were included in the top five as well.
